Music events

If you want to support our local talent, go see DrumSpirit Live! They were a surprise gold buzzer and a huge success on Belgium’s Got Talent and a live show was the next best thing to winning for them. They incorporate the hypnotic beats of drums and other percussion and always encourage talented young members to get involved and share the stage. The show premieres on 14 April in Kursaal Oostende. If you prefer a more festival-type vibe, Ostend Beach Fest is from 12-14th July and as every year, the line up is fantastic. They have the very best in local and international artists, many delicious food stalls and a world-class atmosphere on their campsite. If you like dance music this is an event you cannot miss. If camping isn’t your style and you’d prefer to party the posh way, Leopold Hotel Ostend is just 10-minutes from the beach. Wash off one day and start the next in style!

Food & drink events

For visitors with a sophisticated palate, the Champagne Festivall is taking place in Ostend from 15th -17th March. You can spend the weekend getting to know French Champagne producers and sampling some of their finest wares. Especially interesting if you are a restaurant or bar owner or planning to buy bottles in bulk for an upcoming event like a wedding. The weekend of 22/23rd June has a very special foodie event, especially for fish lovers. As we are on the coast, fish is one of the culinary delights you’ll find a lot of in Ostend. Over the course of the weekend. You can explore every aspect of the industry, from joining the fishermen on the boats to the delicious fish in many forms on your plate. It’s a fun culinary experience for all ages and a great way to expand your seafood palate.

Kids

Entertaining the children can be a full-time job in itself so bringing them to a fun family event in Ostend this year will give you a well-deserved break. On Sunday 21st April, to celebrate Easter, Leopold Park is hosting a huge Easter Egg hunt for the little ones. It’s suitable for children aged 1-12 and you can register your children online now. They might even be lucky enough to meet the Easter Bunny himself! If you’re here from late June to early September, you’ll have to stop by Klein Strand beach and check out the world-famous Sand Sculpture Festival. 150 sculptures made with specially imported sand is built every year by 40 professional artists and is an absolute spectacle. The artistic talent will absolutely wow you and you’ll find it hard to believe it’s just sand and water! The festival won a Guinness World Record for being the biggest of its kind in the whole world.
